Volunteer Opportunities

The CVMA is always looking for volunteers to serve on the following committees. We hope you will consider volunteering your time!

Continuing Education (CE): The CE committee helps to recruit speakers and plan programming for the CVMA's webinar series and Annual Meeting. The committee meets via Zoom (approximately) every 6-8 weeks.

Government Affairs Committee: The GAC works with the CVMA lobbyist to monitor and propose legislation at the CT State House. Members may be called upon to testify before at legislative committee hearings. The GAC meets by Zoom on a regular basis during the legislative session.

Finance Committee: The Budget committee reviews income and expenses for the association and prepares the annual budget each year. The budget committee meets several times each year by Zoom.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee: The DEI Committee advocates for and supports diversity and leadership within the veterinary community, to help facilitate and encourage growth in our understanding and awareness of diversity and inclusion within our organization, and to promote equality of opportunity for all. The Committee is dedicated to increasing the participation and fostering the leadership of under-represented groups. The committee typically meets via Zoom.

Membership and Communications Committee: This Committee works to enhance the marketing and communications efforts of the CVMA, including the website, e-newsletter and social media. The committee also reviews CVMA Award nominations. The committee meets monthly by Zoom.

Well-Being Committee: The Wellness Committee works to create awareness, resources and community that support CT veterinarians to achieve wellbeing in their personal and professional lives. The committee meets via Zoom.
